Dr Hagen qualified from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa) in 1991. During his undergraduate years he spent time in the Tubingen (Germany) as an exchange student, courtesy of Siemens.
He worked for five years in Essex before settling in Highgate where he has been since 1997. In August 2000 he took over the Highgate Dental Practice from Dr Bay and has transformed it into the top quality specialist dental clinic that it is today.
Dr Hagen attends post graduate courses on a regular basis and enjoys the holistic/cosmetic approach to dentistry. His interest is smile design and he enjoys customising smile design treatments to match the needs, expectations and budget for each individual patient. He has done extensive training in dental implantology and recently completed the year diploma course with VSAcademy, UK. Over the past twenty years he has appointed a team of highly skilled and specialised professionals. The practice thrives as a multidisciplinary run-through which means no outward referrals.
Dr Hagen is a greatly skilled facial rejuvenation professional and is regularly invited to attend master class sessions by international companies. He has done extensive training in facial aesthetics and has attended training at the Amsterdam Medical School as well as the Nice Institute of the Head and Neck. He has also done an accreditation exam with the Royal College of Surgeons.

Dr EialMakori qualified from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa) in 1997. Eial (known as Max) Makori, has been working as a private cosmetic Dentist for close to 10 years, and has a great desire for designing and creating natural smiles that not only look great but that also last a long time.In addition he has completed an extensive implant and cosmetic course recently and is also an associate member of the British Academy of Aesthetic dentistry.
Max Believes in continuing education therefore he frequently attends courses detailing the latest techniques and learning from other like-minded colleagues.
He is known for practicing in a very conservative nature and often will choose to build a tooth directly in the mouth using high quality composite material, thus eliminating the need for crowns. Or else to create a Painless Smile Make Over change by means of teeth whitening or direct composite (tooth-coloured restorations) build ups on front teeth without the need for drilling or injections. His passion also lies in surgical Dentistry and rehabilitation, he has vast experience and knowledge in restoring heavily broken down dentition to healthy, natural looking functional smile.
His central ethos is to treat all his patients as just the way he would like to be treated, ensuring his utmost attention and care at all time.

Vanessa graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Leeds University. She worked for nearly 5 years in a mixed client practice in Nottingham and in 2006 took a year sabbatical to go back to Cardiff University to study for a Masters in Forensic Odontology, in which she passed with distinction. Vanessa then worked in a private practice in Hertfordshire before joining The Highgate Dental Practice in 2010.
Vanessa is interested in all aspects of aesthetic and cosmetic dentistry and enjoys improving and changing client’s smiles. She completed a yearlong cosmetic course in 2007 and is a full member of the British Association of Cosmetic Dentists. Vanessa provides the Invisalign treatment at The Highgate Dental Practice. In treating her clients Vanessa has a good chair side manner and has an excellent approach to nervous clients and children.
In her spare time Vanessa does forensic dentistry on a consultancy basis. Vanessa enjoys improving her knowledge by keeping up to date through various courses and meeting other colleagues at regular dental conferences.

Tim Qualified from the University of Bristol in 1988 winning the prosthetic prize and BDA medal for the highest clinical results. He then spent some years in practice in Bristol where he developed an interest in Restorative Dentistry, specifically Endodontics.
In 1998 he moved to London helping to set up a practice in the West End and undertaking the Certificate in Restorative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute. He continued his studies there subsequently gaining a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry (with Distinction) and an MSc in Restorative Dental Practice (also with Distinction).
As well as being on the specialist registrar in Endodontics, Tim has a keen interest in all aspects of restorative dentistry. He is heavily involved in endodontic and restorative post-graduate education lecturing nationally and internationally and runs hands on courses as well as being happy to host practitioners at the practice. Tim is a European clinical consultant for 3M as well as a certified Endodontic and Restorative trainer for Dentsply.He is also former secretary and past president of the London Dental Study Club, is an editorial board member of The Probe Dental Journal and was made a Fellow of the International College of Dentists in 2008.
Tim lives in Highgate and is married with 2 Children. He enjoys running, skiing, karate and photography.

Nectaria graduated from Guys, University of London in 1995. She worked in general practice for 3 years. In sequence she gained membership to the Royal College of Surgeons England in 2000 following two years hospital training as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery. She then embarked on a further three years full time specialist training at the Eastman Dental Institute and gained Masters in Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics with distinction and Membership in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons England in Nov 2003.
She is now one of only 15 people on the Endodontic specialist register with these qualifications. She works at the Royal London Dental Hospital where she teaches Senior House Officers and Specialist Registrars.She is also involved in lecturing and providing further education of qualified Dental Surgeons at the Eastman Dental Institute and Royal London Hospital.

Sue undertook her dental training at University College Hospital, London. She then embarked on well recognized training posts at the major London training hospitals; UCH, The Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street and Eastman Dental Hospital, where she gained experience in children’s dentistry and maxillofacial surgery. During this time Sue passed post graduate examinations to becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, England and was awarded the Hunterian Gold medal.
As a result Sue gained a place on the three year full time Specialist training in Orthodontics based at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London. She then spent a further 3 years at the Royal London Hospital undertaking her Orthodontic consultant training and specializing in the management of complex orthodontic cases and was awarded a Fellowship in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons, England.
She has carried out research looking at facial aesthetics and Orthognathic surgery presenting her findings at both National and European conferences. She has wide experience in all types of orthodontic appliances for both adults and children and specialises in “invisible braces” such as Invisalign and Incognito.
Sue has wide experience in treating all types of orthodontic problems in both adults and children. She offers a patient centred approach and makes the orthodontic journey easy for even the most nervous patients. Being part of the Highgate team allows Sue to work closely with the other specialists making multidisciplinary treatments seamless.

19 Years of Dental Experience – Dr Niland joined us in October 2019 and we have had great results in our implant treatments. He has a very gentle approach and patients report that they do not feel any post operative discomfort after implant treatment.
I qualified in June 2000 at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, before relocating to the UK in 2001. I have always had a particular interest in IV sedation, oral surgery and implantology, and have gained vast experience in all of these fields over the years. Graduating with a degree in implantology from the prestigious Lille University in France in 2009 I advanced my knowledge and skills, as well as completing numerous hours in postgraduate courses to stay abreast of the latest techniques.My passion and interest in dental implants has allowed me to design our dental implant treatments that helps create a healthy, natural-looking mouth.I take great pride in helping patients that travel to visit us from Marlborough, Newbury and Swindon.
Currently I am a member of the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry (SAAD), the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI), British Dental Association (BDA) and General Dental Council (GDC).

We are privileged to have on our team Dr Matheus Prado. Originally from Brazil where he initially qualified as a dental technician he was through determination and hard work accepted at Kings College Dental School in London to study dentistry. This double qualification has given him an advantage as he has experience in both the technical and clinical fields of dentistry. This gives him an advantage when planning treatments. He has worked in Brazil, Sweden and the UK and speaks Portuguese, English and Swedish. Brazilian dentists are famed for their top class dentistry and cosmetic skills and he is an experienced dentist. He provides Invisalign treatment and has an interest in Aesthetic Dentistry and facial aesthetics. He has already operated in coordination with our Implantologist and appreciates the value of the different skills required to get the best results for his patients.
He has a gentle approach and works very well with anxious patients and pays great attention to detail which is so important if you wish to deliver high quality dentistry.

Sophie has been involved in the dental profession since 2010, firstly qualifying as a Dental Surgery Assistant. Then going on to qualify as a Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist in 2017 at The University of Leeds, where she was presented the “Clinical Competency” award on graduating and also gained the first prize for her dental research during her time at University.
Sophie enjoys treating patients of all ages and ensures every patient is treated in a caring, relaxing and friendly environment tailored to the individual needs of each patient. She has a gentle approach to dental hygiene, ensuring that all her patients have the knowledge, support and tools to maintain a healthy smile. Sophie is a member of British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy (BSDHT) and the British Association of Dental Therapists (BADT) and is always updating her knowledge with Continued Professional Development courses.
